i always say i meet my grandmothers whenever i write , & these poems are just two wit(h)nesses to the abundance of my mother’s mother; to her laughter; to her strength. he makana no kuʻu tūtūhine. aloha nui iā ʻoe.

performance: "self-portrait as fragrance" & "upon receiving hauʻoli lā hānau e kuʻu nani na pumehana malia Holmes"
at the 2026 PAMLA conference in november, i will be performing two poems from a vibrant & nourishing poetry workshop this past spring.
"self-portrait as fragrance" & "upon receiving 'hau'oli lā hānau e ku'u nani' na pumehana malia holmes" are poems that affirm Native bodies as abundant bodies (of water), teeming with life. In a world that runs on scarcity, who will still see us as water? Who will still see us?

panel: "zines as archival guardians: protectors & makers of collective ea and deoccupied love"
at the 2026 PAMLA conference in november, i will be presenting an essay that will study the Aloha Aina Zine and the zine form as a whole to discuss how, unlike colonial understandings of time & relationality, archives such as zines help us defend our lands, waters, (un)dead, and living & remember them the right way. no nā kipi, nā kiaʻi, nā mea kūʻē, nā mea kākau, nā kūpuna.
